Farewell Cheer Season!
At last, the cheer season is coming to an end for my girls and our family. During cheer comp season, it seems that cheer takes over our very beings. As much as I love watching my girls cheer (and how much fun they have doing it), I sure am happy when each season comes to an end. It's a time to look forward to more family meals around the table; A time for my girls to actually play with the toys that have been ignored the past few months; A time to spend money on something other than out of town cheer comp expenses. We had 2 two-day out of town competitions this season, and no matter how much notice we have, it still seems like it drains us financially and physically. We had a blast in both Anaheim and Vegas, but it seems to take us days to recover from these trips. It sure will be nice to have some down time over the next few months. Maybe I will actually save some money over the next few months in preparation of next cheer season. I always say that, but haven't done it yet. Oh Well!

TGMIO: Thank goodnes March is over!
We have all heard of TGIF...well, for me, it is TGMIO. Don't get me wrong, we had a lot of fun in March. Disneyland and Anaheim 3 different weekends. I think I swiped my annual passport for Disneyland 11 different days this month and I am exhausted. My bank is also a little broke, too. I wasn't sure I would make it through the month alive, but I did! I am looking back now and, having had a week to recupperate, am remembering it more fondly than I did 10 days ago. We have our last cheer comp of the season this weekend in Vegas. Yes...traveling to Vegas, through the dessert, with my 8 and 6 year old girls, for a 2 day cheer comp. The girls are excited because the only other time they went to Vegas was when they were too young to remember. We are hoping to squeeze some fun into this trip. However, we did see that it is supposed to rain this weekend. This has certainly been a very busy cheer season, but we have created a lot of great and fond memories. I am looking forward to some downtime and also, for some time for my bank account to recover. :)

Another Week!
I have to say, I didn't realize that doing nothing could be so wonderful!!! We did absolutely nothing this weekend and we enjoyed every minute of it. We are always so busy with work and numerous family and child activities that we never just get to slow down. We are gearing up for our 3rd weekend at Disneyland this month & my oldest daughter's 8th birthday. I can't believe she is going to be 8. I remember being 8 so vividly, so it is just so surreal to me that my baby is turning an age that I remember like it was yesterday. Crazy!!! Anyway, that being said, I am really glad we had the chance to enjoy some down time, since this coming weekend will be crazy busy! And fabulous...it will be fabulous...did I mention that???

Today was a pretty uneventful day. I did, however, have the pleasure of helping my dad move a sofa he and my mom just purchased to furnish their new "retirement home." My parents are preparing for retirement and have purchased an RV that they will remodel and move to a retirement village in Coarsegold. They have purchased an RV and have gutted it. They have the opportunity to make this home their own. They have chosen a new color scheme and will refurnish and refurbish the whole RV. I couldn't be happier for them. So, this weekend, I had a great time helping them pick out the perfect sofa for their new home. It really is so much fun to help other people spend their money! The perfect ending to this shopping adventure was to be able to help my dad move this sofa home. I am so excited for my parents and this adventure they are embarking on and feel blessed to be able to share this experience with them.

The Great Ice Cream Adventure
Today after church I got to spend some quality time with my
oldest daughter while daddy took our youngest daughter to a birthday party. To
make the time special, Ashley was given some options on how we could spend the afternoon.
She chose to get ice cream and to get
our nails done, at home of course. So it began, the “Great Ice Cream Adventure.”
Who would have thought getting vanilla
would be such a challenge. We first went to Yodiggity to find that the vanilla yogurt
machine was broken. We then went to
Sierra Vista to find that Maggie Moo’s was no longer in business. By now we
were hungry. So we decided a slice of pizza
would do the trick. Ice cream wasn’t off the table yet, so off to Baskin Robbins
we went, hoping that 1 of the 31 flavors would be vanilla. Finally, we found
the vanilla Ashley was holding out for. After we got our tummies full, it was time
for nails. So we went home picked a color and I did Ashley’s nails. Then, it
was time for rest…finally.

Cheer Mom
Today I was the ultimate cheer mom, rolling out of bed...almost with a smile on my face, at 5:00 a.m. The things we do for our kids! My 2 girls had a competition cheer performance today. They were up at 6 and out the door shortly after 7. They were amazing today...lots of smiles and lots fun!
